Who doesn’t love fireworks? Well . . . besides the dog and the baby. Personally I think fireworks are great and the bigger the display the better! This weekend will present many opportunities for viewing fireworks as we celebrate Independence Day here in the USA on July 4th. These 4th of July fireworks displays can also serve as great inspiration for graphic designers, photographers and artists. Why not use that colorful, explosive experience as design inspiration when creating your next great design for digital printing or offset printing?
To get those creative juices flowing and inspire you I've come up with a list of some cool links related to fireworks. Check them out!

So, I don’t know about you but I am getting pretty excited for the upcoming Independence Day holiday. Yes, the 4th of July weekend is almost upon us! Here at TPI Solutions Ink business tends to slow down a bit during the 4th of July week. For much of the country the 4th is the official kick off to the summer and summer vacations. It’s a time of the year that many people choose to take a break, slow down and enjoy time with friends and family. Normally during this week print orders don’t seem to be quite as urgent, clients don’t mind waiting an extra day or two for their jobs. In our printing company we build our schedule around the holiday, we plan for this break but, believe me, if a client needed us to work we certainly would. Some printing plants close down for the entire 4th of July week. We don’t close for the week at TPI but this year we are extending the holiday weekend. We will be closed on Friday, July 1st and Tuesday, July 5th so that the entire staff can enjoy some down time and return on Wednesday the 6th refreshed, ready and raring to go. A bit of a boost for the soul you could say.
This year I have been particularly looking forward to summer and the 4th of July. I am even beginning to think that this may be one of my favorite holidays and here’s why:
I would imagine that there are many other types of businesses that find the beginning of July to be a bit slower than the rest of the year. Do you find that things slow down during this time of year in your business? Does your company take advantage of this breather, close down or reduce hours? If this is a slower time of year in your line of work my advice is to take advantage of it. Refresh, rejuvenate and enjoy life outside of the daily grind. You won't be sorry.
June 10th marked the first anniversary of the
TPI Solutions Ink Blog. It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed, but it has and I am definitely still learning something new about blogging, inbound marketing and social media on a daily basis.
My very first blog post was about my daughter Emily’s high school graduation and the keepsake poster that we created for her here. I am happy to report that Emily has the poster hanging on her bedroom wall covered with autographs and well wishes from family and friends. She has successfully completed her first year of college and will soon be a sophomore. The post was rather brief but a good way to get my feet wet, it was a start and that's half the battle, right?
As I reflect on my blogging over the past year I will say that I have been pretty pleased with the results, especially the increased traffic to our website. As I look forward I know that there are things I need to improve upon. Number one is being consistent with the frequency of my posts. Why? Because there is a noticeable increase in traffic to our website right after posting a new blog article. My goal is to post once a week to keep that traffic steady and ultimately increase traffic. I aim to reach this goal in the next six months. So, dear readers, I am counting on you . . . I expect to be called out on this if it doesn’t happen! I also encourage you to comment on my posts. I'd love to hear what you think!
Are you blogging for your business? Do you consistently post new articles? How do you stay on track? Do you post on the same day or days each week or month? Did you have a favorite TPI Solutions Ink Blog post this year?
